[AMBIÁGUA] WITH NEW WORK IN THE ALENTEJO

April 20, 2024

The parish of Ciborro, in Montemor-o-Novo, is to have a new Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), which will guarantee more efficient and sustainable treatment of the population's wastewater.

The new WWTP will be built in the same location as the current facility, which is obsolete compared to current requirements. The new Ciborro wastewater treatment plant will incorporate the most recent

line that includes:

  • Removal of coarse and sieved solids, removal of sand and grease
  • Homogenisation and equalisation tank
  • Biological treatment with selector upstream of 2 SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) lines
  • Air diffusion by fine bubble diffusers and blowers
  • Production of service water with filtration and disinfection using sodium hypochlorite
  • Gravitational thickening of sludge
  • Deodorisation of confined spaces using a biofilter

The construction of the new Ciborro WWTP represents an important investment for the future of the parish, guaranteeing more efficient and sustainable wastewater treatment and contributing to environmental protection.
