Work carried out by the consortium AngolACA & AmbiÁfrica with Special Honourable Mention PALOP.

The 2nd Edition of the Green Awards took place on 5 June, an initiative carried out by Visão and the Águas de Portugal Group, with the high patronage of the President of the Republic of Portugal, with the mission of recognising, disseminating and rewarding good practices in the area of the environment.

Throughout the event, eight awards and 15 honourable mentions were given, in 10 different categories (among more than 170 applications received), and one of them was the Wastewater Treatment Plant supporting the Heróis de Cangamba centrality, developed in Luena, Moxico - Angola, by the AngolACA and AmbiÁfrica consortium, for Kora and its partner Owini, thus becoming the first WWTP in Angola with percolator beds (biological treatment), with state-of-the-art filling medium, serving 17,000 homes, with low energy consumption by taking advantage of the unevenness of the terrain and operating without the use of reagents.
